Night time sweet tooth

I struggle with waking up in the middle of the night and eating a snack. Most of the time it's not a healthy choice, for example last night I caught myself eating Nutella and animal crackers, it's something that I wouldn't dare eat in the day so I'm wondering why I make these kinda choices in the middle of the night when I'm half asleep. Share your story if you can relate or give advice.

When dieting I always end up waking up in the night to go to the toilet and I am starving! So usually I avoid sweet (my weakness) and instead I'll have a couple crackers and maybe a sip of juice. 15 gold fish crackers are only 35cals. I didn't find it to hinder my progress and it allows me to go back to bed feeling good.

I eat halo top ice cream every night before I go to bed. Satiates my sweet tooth and a serving can easily be budgeted into your daily calorie goal

This is what I do, plus it has the bonus of a little extra protein.

    Go back to sleep.

You have to train your body to stop waking up. If you feed it every time it wants something sweet, you are always going to be waking up in the middle of the night. If it knows the only thing you are going to do is go back to sleep, it won't bother.

Fruit is the best substitute for sweets I've found. Also, at first I read the post title as "Night time tooth sweat".
