Hi,
I am Debbie and 2 yr breast cancer survivor. I am having a hard time losing weight. I have 60-70 lbs to lose.
The surgeries and recovery time have done a number on me. I have had 7 including a double mastectomy, ovaries removed. I am currently on a chemotherapy pill for at least 5 years. ( That's all I am giving them)
I should be thankful that I am a Survivor and alive, but I feel and look like a round snowman. I want my body back, I am 44 yrs old and ready for a slimmer me.
Thank you.

My own BC journey was much simpler. I didn't need chemo or radiation, and I am very thankful for that. However, I am about 18 months post reconstruction. Friend me if you'd like...

I'll be five years out in Feb. Still doing HT. Had an ooph in 2015 and have gained 20 lbs since then, though I'd like to lose around 50 lbs. I hate how humiliated I feel about my weight. Christmas was tough. Lots of family and drama and that stresses me out. Also my knees have been bothering me - thank you AIs. Anyway, I love some support.0

Hi Ladies.
I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer end of Jan 2016. I just posted my story, if you will, on my page. To be brief, I had a double mastectomy 3/2016. I started on trelstar & tamoxifen in June. Reconstruction in July. I am still on trelstar but onc switched me to Exemestane in late Nov 2016- because it's supposed to be more effective. Gained 15 lbs in the month after starting Exemestane. Now my BP is high so now I have to take BP meds. I am 45 and had weight to lose before- it's so frustrating. I too, am thankful to be alive (My Mom died from Breast Cancer when I was 20 yrs old). I also want to feel well (& feel comfortable with how I look). I read a couple of the posts on this group and they sounded just like me! Members of this group, please add me as a friend. Let's get healthy together!1 -
Hi just adding my voice in to this group. I Just finished stage 1 treatment, partial mastectomy radiation and now tomoxifen--how many ways can one trigger hot flashes ;-). I am determined to be a thriver and not just a survivor. It is very hard, however, to lose weight when the drugs make your body fight your efforts. I was 40 pounds over when I was diagnosed. I lost 15 before surgery but then barely lost anything post surgery even though I swam at least once a week or more when I could and kept to a well balanced diet of 1200 Cals. At the same time all the docs remind you that being overweight is a risk factor for recurrence. Finally I demanded they get me help and not just tell me less calories in -- more calories out. So my oncologist gave me a nutritionist referral at a metabolic weight clinic. The nutritionist analyzed everything and re structured my diet to be higher in calories 1200-1400 (more on workout days). and much higher in protein 100grams per day. Added weights to workout and had me vary cardio to include elliptical swimming and biking. As my energy returned my workouts increased. She also added 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar in 8-12 Oz hot water in morning which helped with the constipation from the drugs. And increased water to 10 glasses per day. It's working. I am now losing 1-2 pounds per week and feel much better. I record everything like a nutcase but it keeps me focused. Would love to work through this all with you!!3
