Weight gain after thanksgiving won't go away

I don't know if it's water weight or real gain. I was steadily losing 1lb a week. spent thanksgiving day through sun eating leftovers. Gained about 3lbs. I've gone back to working out 4 days a week and walking 2. Portion control and eating healthy. Scale isn't even budging. I just got over a plateau and feel like I'm going through it all over again. Can't tell if this is real gain or if water retention really stays after a week

Combo of real gain and water gain I'm afraid. The water gain takes up to a week to go away, the real gain possibly longer depending on your weight loss rate. You might want to actually count calories, not just portions.

Probably a little of both. My "gain" was 5 lbs and took a full 7-8 days to lose, probably a real pound and the rest water. Watch your sodium, drink tons of water.
