Last year, I injured my hip. As a result, I gained 18lbs. This fall, it slowly started to feel better with some stretches and a quick trip to the chiropractor who snapped it back into place. It still feels tender, but it doesn't clunk or lock up when I walk or move. Anyway, since October 26th, I have gone from 145lbs to 135lbs. I have increased my running from a 5K every other day to 4 miles, 4.5 miles, rest, repeat. My paces have also dropped over 1:00/mile despite my distances increasing. Since that visit, I have hit 15K steps each day, and even have 13 20K+ days. I have been eating about 500-600 calories less than what my Fitbit Charge HR says I burn. My goal is to get back to 125-127. There are days I step on the scale and gain 2lbs, etc. And I have also been eating out still, enjoying a glass of wine from time to time, and managed to eat a full Thanksgiving Dinner and leftovers thru all this. My point in this post is to not give up. Make small changes. I've been successful without becoming angry and frustrated because I'm doing it all in moderation. I don't feel lacking, I don't feel hungry despite eating less than normal and obviously at a deficit, and I feel motivated to continue on until I reach my goal (with the exception of Christmas Eve of course).
