Do Richard Simmons videos count as...

...aerobics, general or aerobics, high impact? I know it's only a difference of a few calories, but still...
I certainly wouldn't count them as low impact as they're much more energetic than any of my Walk Away the Pounds videos, and according to the threads on here, those count as low impact.
Thanks muchly. I did try searching the message boards first, but it was a lot of talk of how wonderful he is. Which he is, of course. I just needed to know how to count my "80's Blast Off" video and the new one I bought tonight.

I put mine in as Cardio and created my own thing to add to the database. Last week I did Sweatin' to the Oldies
I have a heart rate monitor so I know how much my burn is. I'm guessing you wanted to have a guesstimate for your workout? Not sure I can help you with that, sorry!0 -
Thanks for responding even if you do your own thing. :flowerforyou: I don't have a HRM, just a pedometer. I did, however buy the Sweating to the Oldies video today. It was the only one Walmart had. I've discovered I need lots of variety to stay interested & motivated even though I play my own music during the Walk Away the Pounds videos.
I'll log RS as general aerobics for now, figuring if it's a few more calories burned, then it's not hurting.0 -
No problem!
Sometimes I feel cheesy for doing anything Richard Simmons, but I can't help it... he's just so hilarious to me. I got the whole Sweatin' to the Oldies boxset on Amazon several years back. I didn't even know they had made more than the first 2!
I was actually surprised how many calories I had burnt last week when I did the first video. It ended up being 295 calories for the 40 minute video.0 -

When you did this, which one did it register closer to? I also have Sweatin to the Oldies and don't know how to log it0
