Good if:
you want to be able to set your macros by grams rather than by percentages,
you want to have different calorie goals on different days,
you want the app to tell you the most nutritious food you ate that day,
you want to have more control over how your exercise calories are applied to your calorie goal,
you don't want ads
Things Premium does NOT do:
It has the same recipe builder
It has the same database
It has the same forums
It has the same newsfeed and interaction with friends
It has the same number of options for numbers and names of meals, and number and type of macros/nutrients tracked.
Some people find Premium really handy, for others it's completely not worth it. Have a GOOD read of what it offers and decide if those tools would be good for you. But really read it through first, so many people sign up for Premium them come onto the forum to complain it doesn't do something that they thought it did, even though MFP never said Premium did that thing.1
