I made my #1 daily goal to get up hit those 250 steps each hour. I have a tendency to veg out on my laptop for hours so gettibg up once and hour to walk in place, if nothing else, is my number 1 goal to begin with.

My #1 starting place was logging accurately. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't losing weight because I didn't think I was eating "that bad". I logged my food on MFP for one week. Then, I realized how 'bad' I was actually eating - and by bad, I mean, I was eating wayyyyy too many calories!

That brought me to step #2. Log accurately followed by staying within my calorie goals consistently. So far, so good! 12lbs down.

My #1 is staying consistent, because in the past when I screwed up I would go on a downward spiral but now I just tell myself even if I mess up today I just have to hop back on the train and make tomorrow better.

In the beginning for weight loss it was logging accurately and using a food scale (talk about eye opening!)

Picking up change, or in my case digging up change (I am a metal detectorist). Change a little, then change a little more, and then a little more change. After a while you'll have a lot of change
