Hi all, been losing weight for the last 9 months or so, and almost at my 4 stone mark, set out wanting to lose 5 or so, so getting there slowly but surely. Achieved this through diet alone as currently out of work with chronic back pain, and sitting walking etc is not so good with me. Back problem has been ongoing for last 3/4 yrs but really have had issues since I was 18 with it, now I'm 34 and facing my second op . I'm 5ft 3 and now 11 st 8 which will help with the operation no doubt. Just scared I guess. Whatever mobility I have now will be decreased for a few weeks or months after op, getting a two level spinal fusion. Just hoping that I can keep it together food wise, filling up the freezer with batch cooking at the moment. But just wondering if anybody here has undergone similar op and if so, any advice. Or any recommendations for keeping on track food wise when the going gets tough as no doubt there will be rough days ahead to get out the other side. Just don't want to slide backwards while I'm recovering...

But can't wait to be able to walk for 5 minutes solid without having to stop due to pain or muscle spasms

My fusion got me into all my trouble. I was afraid to do anything. Now 10 years later I'm doing my best to get back into the things I enjoy. My next 50 goal is windsurfing. My advice: walk, walk ,walk and walk some more. Don't stop get more active. My fusion didn't hold me back, my brain did. Log your food, drink your water and enjoy life
