Do you need more or less calories closer to goal weight? I'm about 5 pounds off target and finding it really difficult to lose them, have had it suggested I should up my calories?

Increasing the amount you're eating will either stop or slow your weight loss. When you say it is difficult to lose them, do you mean you aren't losing at all or you're just losing slowly?

To lose upping calories doesn't work...what does work is tightening up the logging as there is less room for inaccuracies when we are close to goal. If you've slackened off weighing foods etc now is the time to address that.

IF you are hungry a lot and it is causing you to eat above your calorie goal, it can be helpful to either take a bit of a maintenance break for awhile or to up your calorie goal slightly. Both will slow down your loss rate a bit but if you're already stalling out or getting frustrated it can be worth it.

How much is your deficit now? If it is more than 400-500 calories below your recommended calories, then I would up it to at least that.
