How do you do assisted pull ups without the pull up assist band?

If you have a box or chair you can put your feet on it and self assist that way0

You can also have a friend support your feet.0

These are all great suggestions, or you could get a band. They're relatively inexpensive (don't buy the one Beachbody wants to sell you). I bought a pullup assist band for about 20 bucks back in the day, and it helped get me where I wanted to be.0

you can also do eccentrics. start at the top with a jump or by stepping off something, and lower yourself under control.
if your shoulders are new to the idea i'd recommend the non-jumping option, or just a light jump to start with. speaking from experience of having pulled something in under one shoulderblade when i was very new to the entire process. but so long as you don't shock them that way, eccentrics are great.0
