Home gym for me. It's there whenever I want it.. rain snow or shine.2

I used to workout at home but now I really look forward to my time at the gym or taking long bike rides. I love my family but our house is small and it's too easy to get distracted when I workout at home.4

Home gym for me, but I've been accumulating toys to play with
My motivation is to be the best version of myself for my wife and kids. That always drives me to push. I also am working towards building strength with lots of barbell work. I'd like to compete in a powerlifting show.1 -
Gym. I get too distracted by other things at home...and I don't own a power rack.1
-
Since I'm easing back into routine exercise after a looooong absence, I am using a series of online videos to do weight training, cardio, and stretching routines on alternate days, at home. Once I am firmly entrenched in the habit, I will transition to the gym for heavier weights.0

I can't do it from home. I've tried in the past, but it's too easy to make excuses and / or get distracted.
Plus, way more equipment at the gym than I could ever buy for home gym.2 -
I lift in the gym...there is no room in my home for a power rack and whatnot, plus the gym is my "me" time...there are too many distractions at home...kids need something, wife needs something, etc.
My cardio is primarily cycling...I prefer to be outdoors, but now that winter has set in, I'm spending a lot more time with my trainer and YouTube spin sessions and virtual road rides.
For the most part, no "motivation" really required...cycling and lifting are more or less hobbies that I'm pretty passionate about.0 -

I have a set of interchangeable dumbbells at home, as well as bands and ankle weights, but I only use these on arm day. I also use them for stretching, band work and ab work each night (when I'm not feeling beat after the gym) but other than that I go to the gym. My motivation for going to the gym stems from wanting to constantly increase the weight I'm lifting (squats, DL's, rows, etc.) that wouldn't be possible at my home. I like the competetive feeling of going to the gym and feeling like I can't have "down time" or appear lazy, so I strive to keep pushing through my work out. Honestly, getting started, whether at home or in the gym, is the hardest part. Find a program, stick to it even when it's hard, and after a while the progress will be what motivates you. You'll constantly be wanting to hit new PR's and 1RM, to make different body parts be more toned or gain more muscle. It's awesome.1 -
I just can't get motivated at home.
I need the energy of others and the time to focus on me that I get at the gym.3 -
I do both. Gym when I want/need a break and to get out of the house (more often in the Summer and week ends when I'm not alone at home), but I use my stationary bike and weights at home.1
-
Garage gym. It's awesome, I don't have to drive anywhere. I get up at 5:30 and work out in what I slept in, while drinking coffee.3

Home. I'm super short on time so the extra time to commute to a gym is a no-go for me. Between the time I'm opening my eyes and the time I'm exercising is around 15 minutes, and that includes:
1. getting dressed (duh)
2. Powering on my apple watch
3. getting the iPad or bluetooth speaker
4. Prepping BCAA for consumption during exercise
5. Say hi to the dogs and cat.0 -
Home for me too. My motivation is the desire to stay healthy.0
-
I do my dedicated cardio at home. I lift in the gym. I don't have room for all the equipment. I also don't have competent spotters at home to make sure I don't kill myself benching.
eta: And I've found I like the social aspect during rest periods with many members of the gym I go to.0 -

Me too. Coffee and blaring rap music at 5:30am. Garage gym is open 24, no lines and no one else's flu germs. Bought a bunch of used equipment on line and local consignment stores for under $500

Home. I can do gym, but I don't prefer it so I don't do it. I get distracted by people, and people at home know not to bother me when I work out. I just clearly state "I'm going to workout now", and they know what that means. I have social anxiety when something involves a lot of movement, always worrying I would have a wardrobe malfunction or embarrass myself in some way, which is very weird because I'm normally social and easy going and can easily shrug off any embarrassing situations. It is what it is.0

I gave a speech once on positive peer pressure. .
One example is if you hang out at gym your bound to start doing something ..
Good luck0 -
Home gym, it was financially motivated to set it up.
My motivation to exercise is the same no matter where I'm doing it. It's to be fit and keep my joints healthy.
I'm actually more consistent getting my workouts in without the added time needed to drive back and forth to commute to the gym. It's easier to just fit in that half hour I would have spent driving hopping on the treadmill or doing some quick weights.0 -
I workout at home, at the YMCA, and do a cross fit beginner class once a week.
I like to mix things up to keep it interesting, though my schedule really dictates what I do i.e. waking up early to run on the treadmill on the days I work.0 -

Me too. We got all our stuff on Craigslist.

I work out at the gym. Otherwise I don't get anything done, because I have a very curious cat0
-
Home. DVD's/weights and treadmill. I mix it up. I prefer home vs gym. Plus it's free.0
-
Gym. There I can focus on gym stuff - at home I can't. Plus the gym has more equipment, better equipment, people to spot, showers, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi... I love going to the gym!0
-
Home gym. I bought a three bedroom house just so I could have an indoor weight room. I would feel pretty silly walking past that single-purpose room everyday if I didn't use it. I also run outdoors no matter the weather. My motivations are having a reason to get out of the house and the beautiful scenery. My area actually looks even prettier covered in snow.0
-
I have a nice home set-up and I love being able to lift any time of day without interruption. (except for my dog bringing me every one of her toys when I'm warming up. But once the weights are clinking, she's gone).0
-
I rely on my gym's daycare to keep my boys out of my hair while I workout. I love having that non-negotiable, uninterrupted Me Time every single day.0
-
What keeps me motivated? The sun comes up and the sun goes down. I have the same 24 hours whether I'm doing nothing to improve my health or something to improve my health. Sick hurts, so I'll try to improve.0
-
I work out at home on weekdays, go to the gym on weekends. How I look in the mirror, and how I want to look in the mirror keeps me motivated. Also, when I work out and eat right I just feel really good, physically.0
-
I have a home gym I use sometimes ... or I'll drop in at one of the local gyms, often on rainy days on the weekends ... or I'll go outside and do something. Or some combination of that.
I'm active every day ... the day wouldn't be complete without doing something.0 -
Home for me. Dumbbells, chinups, dip station WOSS straps, stairs, lawn mower, snow shovel lol.
I'm a little addicted to the workouts, but my main motivation is just having a decent quality of life I guess. Most of my friends have slowed down at in our age group, and I just don't want to.0
