Calories and Working Out

Hello all!

I work out at least 4 days a week and at most 6. I do both strength training and cardio (which includes HIIT training and more intense forms of cardio). My ideal week is usually 3 days strength training + 30 minutes on elliptical and some cardio/workout video. However my job is a desk job and I am a student, so I'm not very active though I do walk around some.

Is it better for me to put in sedentary for my calorie goal, log my exercise, and eat back my exercise, or is it better for me to put moderate activity?

I should say that my goal is to lost 7 more pounds and gain muscle as well.

Thanks all!

P.S. If I don't eat all my calories back one day, can I eat them the next? Can I 'save' calories for the next day?
