And what do you typically order? I love this place by my house called Redstone, and I ALWAYS order the Jerk Chicken Fondue! What about you guys?

I like lots of different restaurants ... a favourite might be La Porchetta.

Depends on what I'm in the mood for. I don't really have a specific one (and none of them is a chain, except for the Cheesecake Factory for dessert).

Montanas...other than the trophy heads on the walls, the food and service is great, and their menus have allergy info, important to me. I usually order Peppercorn steak, sweet potato fries and a salad...usually as in every time..lol

Right now it's Wok Box. Crispy breaded chicken & rice with choice of three sauces, bam hit my protein for the day. The butter chicken & rice is fantastic (comes with naan), but the sodium count means I can't have it all the time.

As far as traditional chains go, I do like applebees. They're fairly affordable and have calorie counts on their menu, which is helpful. They also have a low cal menu section with some good options.

    Wendy's and KFC
  • An amazing steak house. You cannot beat a really high class steak house that cuts and hangs its own meat. Give me a medium rare rib eye and a dirty martini and I'm a happy bunny...

There aren't a lot of chains I bother with, honestly...I bartended in restaurants for years and I just don't think the mass-produced corporate-planned menus are worth it most of the time. Not trying to be a hipster about it or anything, but mostly if I'm going to go out for dinner I might as well make it worth the money and go somewhere where they're really cooking and creating something.

My most frequent stops these days are probably these places, this one for italian-adjacent and this one for fancy cocktails and great snacks.

Lots of different ones, and they are all local so wouldn't be meaningful to anyone not here.

Gosh, that's a hard question to answer. I can think of 4 local places I would consider favorites. One is Italian and hands down makes the best spaghetti with meatballs I've ever had in a restaurant, so I typically order that. The other specializes in using local fresh ingredients and changes up the menu often, but I always start with their goat cheese appetizer plate. The other is a microbrewery that has awesome burgers so I usually get a burger, but not always the same burger. The last is a Greek/Mediterranean place so I always get either their homemade hummus or baba ganoush, but the entrée varies.

A local place called Farm and Table...menu changes all the time depending on what they're getting in from their farm and other local farms.

That really is a tough one. I suppose my favourite is a diner, anywhere. The options are fantastic: I can get breakfast, a burger, or turkey club whenever I want.

I don't eat out as much as a I use to but my long standing favorites are: La Folie and Jardinerre in San Francisco and Chez Panisse in Berkeley. Always have the foie gras at LaFolie but the menu changes too often at these restaurants to know eactly what I'll order til I get there.

Peter Luger in Brooklyn is my favorite for steaks but I don't get to NY very often. Harris' use to be my favorite for steak in SF but it no longer qualifies. The best steak I had in the City recently was at the 5A5 Steak Lounge. Far better than what the chains, like Alexanders, Chris Ruth's or Morton's, have to offer.
