How do you persuade yourself it's worth it when the results are slow and you have no motivation? All I want to do is eat it seems.

    You have to want it.
Look at yourself and think of where you want to be and what you want to be doing 2,5,10,20,30 years from now.

Do you see your self continuing to gain weight?
Do you want to have trouble moving, sore joints, frequent visits to the doctors, IR, high BP, children or grandchildren you can't play with, travel plans that are hard to enjoy, etc, etc, etc?

    If so carry on.
If the answer is no, start working on your future now.

I want to be healthy for as long as possible so I watch my weight and exercise.
No 'help I've fallen and can't get up' for me.

I want to travel and have fun adventures doing it- so I watch my weight and exercise.
I've worked hard to be able to do the trips I can finally afford and don't want to be one of the many over 60's that have to do sedentary coach tours.

I want to have all the fun I can with my family and grandson- so I watch my weight and exercise.
I love hearing 'come on nana run!' 'Nana could you lift me on to the top please' with no thought for my age.

Find your why and everything else will follow. It has no need to be a rush job. Take your time, work your way into it, just keep moving forward. Keep your eye on the long game- a week off, an extra piece of cake etc are short term hiccups.

You are making decisions that can affect the rest of your life so make them wisely.

    Cheers, h.
