I know this is the weirdest thing to write on a dieting app but it's chit chat so night find some answers!!!
Car broke down today, was pulling away from junction and it just wouldn't accelerate. It was so slow. Thought I had it in wrong gear, got to a roundabout and it happened again!! AA said they couldn't do anything as by the time they got there it was running fine

Hubby's mecanic, he asks what year is the car, is it carborated, do you hear a winding sound, like something is slipping?0
-
Fuel pump, filter, carburetor if its not fuel injected. Takes 3 things fuel, air, and fire.. to make a motor run0

It's a 2010 Clio, no winding sound, it's a 1.2 petrol , no idea if it's carboreted?0

Sounds like your in a different country, 2010 more than likely its fuel injected. I dont recognize the make of car, and we dont have anything that little here 1.2L0

Hubby says what Powerman says, if not carberated, check fuel filter0

I am in England haha! Thank you guys I will have a look0

perhaps the coil packs or a clogged injector... dirty map sensor or faulty cam position sensor could cause it as well, pretty much the same for any modern car... they all suck0

in britain "AA" is like "AAA" in america... but yes they do have "aa" meetings as well ... i trust the guy from the meetings for car info -- usually it is "if one of us is sober enough when we breathe into this tube, the interlock will allow the car to start so we can drive to the next bar"1

definitely sounds like a fuel feed issue. In many cars there is an inline filter, but there is also a fuel pump in the tank to pressurize and send fuel through the system. Many times when the pump is failing it will periodically die, but if you rap really hard on the gas tank with a rubber mallet or such it can get it up and running. Just did one on my 2000 Yukon. Worth checking.0
