So my ideal weight is 160.
But... for a marathon... I've decided that a race weight of 150 is worthwhile (carrying 10 fewer pounds for 26.2 miles of running makes a huge difference), especially when aiming for a sub-3hr time.
I was on track for that, until about 4 or 5 weeks ago, when I hit 152-153lb and just completely stalled out. There is a part of me that arbitrarily wants to force myself to drop calories until I cut those last 2 or 3 pounds. The other part of me thinks "I'm more than 7 pounds UNDER my ideal weight, so F#@K it!"
Honestly, I think it could be foolish to cut if it equates to a loss of muscle mass, but I also despise the idea of setting a goal and not hitting it.
My body, apparently, likes this "152 point something" weight... so maybe that's a sign?
So my question to the group: I have 4.5 weeks to go... should I stick with the original goal or just use these last few weeks to wrap up my training without wasting energy thinking about the scale?

I know it sucks to set a goal and not get there, but if you've stalled, that might be your body telling you to take a break. cutting calories just for the sake of getting to a specific number may do more harm than good especially if you want to put yourself through a marathon.3

Yeah. I don't have much to lose but have stalled also, somewhat. I struggle with pushing myself to drop weight faster than I need to, if at all. And, as a fellow runner, I get how you want to be lighter. At this point it seems to be more of a number you've got in your head, no? I say keep eating and tracking and running and carry on.1
