Hi, my name is Brandy. I've been stuck with my weight loss and now the Dr says no carbs...breads, pasta, potatoes, juice, sweets...and eat avocado and green veggies...I find myself getting bored with food choices and my family unsupportive...anyone else have this problem?

My family is junk food junkies, but I follow a similar diet to the one your doc suggested.0

I sometimes have that problem, and I resolve it with veggie chili, or soup usually. Hopefully you can have some other colour veggies and beans or lentils? I suggest caramelizing your vegetables in a pan or roasting them in the oven when using them for cooking. There are some good salads in bags with different dressings now. They shake things up from a homemade vinaigrette, but home made is great. Also I notice that there are some really great teas out now and drinking a lot of those should help you out. My family is occasionally unsupportive as well so I have to remind them, nicely yet plaintively, not to leave certain problem items out on the counter. Out of sight, out of mind.0

vegetables are carbs, but eat them!
My only real advice is: learn to try different vegetables and learn to prepare them well.
Incorporate nutrient dense carbohydrates like beans, lentils, sweet potatoes etc...
Perhaps shift to 100% whole grain breads, brown rice, slow cook oatmeal...0 -
I would disregard any dietary advice from a doctor that told me "no carbs" and "eat vegetables" in the same sentence since he/she clearly doesn't understand that vegetables are made of carbohydrates...
OP when you said you are stuck - are you logging your food accurately and honestly? Do you use a food scale? Weight loss comes down to the calories consumed, how much you eat is all that matters. The type of food you eat is important for overall nutrition and health - but it is not required to give up the foods you love in order to lose weight. Were there any other medical issues your doctor was trying to address when he/she told you to avoid certain things, or was it simply to give you what he/she thought was a simple way to achieve the required calorie deficit?0
