Not really. For the average person trying to gain muscle, it is all about your calorie intake and getting sufficient protein.4

It matters more in the aspect of gym performance and dietary compliance. There may be some benefits of consuming protein pre- or post- workout, within a 2 hour window but total intake is more important (both calories and protein consumption). And there may be some benefit in terms to protein synthesis if you spread protein throughout the day.
Bold and italics really need to be emphasized. And there are priorities when it comes to nutrition and exercise.
