New study into Weight Loss Drugs

I have seen some information that a PHD researcher at Liverpool University (UK) is undertaking a study entitled "An exploration of the female use of unlicensed weight loss drugs".

Seeing as every other thread on here is about "weight loss" or "diet" pills, I thought this might be of interest to some of the more informed people on here but not sure if it is against MFP rules to post any info regarding the specifics of the study. Could a moderator comment on this.

Me too, could you link to the study? Maybe @psuLemon can weigh in about the actual discussion.

    You are speaking of this?

Scroll down to the last study description on the page,
Looks like the long-term goal is to figure out how to construct public health messages aimed toward educating women who use or want to use such drugs.

That is indeed the study and not the synopsis that I was aware of. Much less interesting. Move on everyone.

The use of these substances are not allowed on MFP under the below guidelines (see bold):

    8. Posts Must Abide By All Legal Statutes

    a) Do not post messages that violate federal, state/provincial, or local laws which include, but are not limited to, anything that violates a copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or is bound by NDA (non-disclosure agreement).

    b) Posts which promote or encourage illegal activities, including, but not limited to, use of illegal substances, violence against others, and procurement of prescription drugs without a prescription, are prohibited.

    c) Images containing hateful or violent imagery, depiction of illegal activities, or copyrighted material are not allowed and will be removed.

This is particularly true because you cannot obtain these substances through medical providers, pharmacists (real ones, not the guy in the back of a gym) or over the counter means. If a substance can be prescribe or obtained in a legal manor, than it could be discussed on MFP (e.g., Creatine).

So having said that, I do have to lock the thread.
