Want my Army body back

I weighed 169 lbs in 2007; now, I'm teetering on the brink of 250 lbs. It's time to do something.
The problem isn't a lack of equipment but a lack of self-discipline. I have the time, money, and goals. I am in excellent health (aside from being obese). The trouble is that I work out for a few weeks, lose 10 lbs, and lose interest. Also, I feel selfconscious about losing weight when my wife is obese. I don't want her to think I'm losing weight to become more attractive to other women. (I'm losing weight to live longer and fit into the clothes that I want to wear.)
More than anything, I want to stay motivated. This is my job to do; I don't ask anyone to try to do it for me. Still, the one thing I haven't tried is this forum. So, ... hi.

Your story is almost identical to mine.
Airforce back in the early 90s I weighed 172, when I started this I was up to 259 and my wife is also heavy.
Presently at 216.8 (as of this morning).
My motivation was (and still is) to find a better job. Been stuck at the same dead end job for 10 years and think if someone lean and strong gives a better first impression that someone obese.
