Calories in a cupcake

Someone gives you a cupcake at an event. The event is a treat so you want to eat it.

Your not in a cafe or restaurant and the cake is unbranded so you can't look up the calories online and it's not appropriate to question the host.

How many calories would you log? For small and large cupcake please?

I would find a similar cupcake in the database and log it and know it would be off.
300-350ish calories for average frosted cupcake, 100-150ish for mini frosted cupcake, a very large frosted cupcake might be 500+ calories.

Yep I was going to say 300-350 is the typical cupcake range. One of my favorite cupcakes, a red velvet with filling in the middle from a local bakery, is around 320 calories.

If it was a mini cupcake I'd do 150 (200 to be safe if it had icing inside). A regular homemade cupcake maybe 350 or again, if icing is inside too then 400. A larger bakery sized cupcake I'd generally stick to 500-550 or again, if icing is inside then 600-650.
No clue how accurate that is, but I figure it's close enough!

    Really?

There will always be cupcakes in the world.

    Huh??

So Op should not eat the cupcake?? - why not??

OP, find a similar one in the data base and consider it a guestimate.
Some things are guestimates - that's ok.

One can only hope, but whether this is true or not, I rarely say no to cupcakes. Unless they have whipped icing. Then why bother...
