Sorry guys, I always do this! Feeling really chubby/soft today and am freaking out about my bulk! Usually I bolt about now and I'm determined to get real opinions/advice this time instead of wasting my efforts. Everywhere I read says don't go above about 24% but I've no way to measure, I go off how I feel and today I feel bulky... Honest opinions please, keep eating or cut?

Have you bulked till you truly can't stand yourself yet? Answer this question and you will know..

Personally for me, I would keep going.

I don't think your 24%. Bulk until you really do feel uncomfortable, if that's now stop, if not keep going

A week before Christmas would be a strange time to go on a cut.
You are also looking pretty lean and not near 24% IMHO.
  • Thanks guys. I have put on 2 stone in the last couple years so its difficult for me to judge as im used to being sickly thin. I do feel uncomfortable but as I said, I usually bolt about now but lose all my hard work so I'm determined not to mess up this time....just don't want to get fat either lol. Yes week before Xmas probably isn't the greatest time to start a cut either haha! Will stick it out another few weeks and see how I feel....

You're not even close to 24%. I'd say if you want to go a little more, go ahead. Alternatively, you can go to maintenance if you don't want to gain anymore.

Honestly you still look pretty lean.

Have you reached your goals during this bulk and added mass where you wanted to? That is how I usually decide when to stop.

I know it's hard to see yourself not as lean as you like, but that is the small sacrifice you make when you bulk to grow muscle. It will all be worth it. I say keep going.
  • Ace cheers. Think I was having a wobbly moment

btw, I had a butt like yours when I started out. are you doing the barbell hip thrust? you gotta look up Bret Contreras if you're not.

I am the barbell hip thrust spokesperson on MFP I think haha. I have grown inches on my bum in the last 6 months of my bulk. Look at my progress photos in my profile for my starting point and just a few weeks ago.

I second the hip thrust statement. Them + band work is a huge booty grower! I thought my butt was sculpted and round before, then I started majorly integrating heavy hip thrusts and BAM! I've gained inches in months as well.

What's your lifting program? I say to keep going or change the program if you aren't progressing
