Gingersnaps. Also peppermint anything. And chocolate cake is always a beloved dessert, no matter the time of year.0

Basically brown sugar, butter, milk to make candy coating for the pecans. Funny, because New Orleans is famous for pralines and the city has french roots. Ingredients must have morphed over the years with other cultural or local influences.0

All I can say is I'm glad peppermint bark is a seasonal thing because I could do some serious damage if it was available year round. And my boss is in huge trouble for telling me how easy it is to make that saltine toffee crack.
I'm English, so I love a big slice of Christmas cake with a chunk of Wensleydale cheese. Mince pies always go down well, and you can't beat Christmas pudding and custard.
And here are some of my Christmas goodies all ready for the weekend. (As you can see - my husband has already made serious inroads into the chocolate cake)

Oreo truffles, because I must eat All of Them.
Cheesecake.
Peppermint mocha things, too.
Though, my grandma's oatmeal cookies (sans raisins, because raisins do not belong in cookies) are pretty killer, too.0 -
