AllWhites Egg Whites, "Once opened, use AllWhites egg whites within 7 days"?

Back during Thanksgiving, specifically the end of that week, I purchased egg whites and didn't use the entire carton before heading back to school. I'm back home now that the semester is over, and today I wanted to make a bagel. I went in the fridge and took out a carton of egg whites that was in my family's fridge. Sure enough, these were the ones I bought back in late November and nobody touched them since when I first opened them. I don't know why nobody told me, but being that I just ate them (Dec. 18), I'm a little concerned by the disclaimer I read about their product.

"Once opened, use AllWhites egg whites within 7 days". The reason I'm a bit confused is because the carton says use by January 8, but the disclaimer is specifically for when you open them.

Have any of you had experiences eating the egg whites after you've opened them and letting them sit in the fridge for more than 7 days? How concerned should I really be? They didn't taste funny, but that was probably because I also mixed them with 2 whole eggs.

I buy the big cartons of egg whites and only use two tablespoons at a time and I'm still here. :)

    You'll be fine.

Just think of it as enhancing your microbiome.

It used to take me 2 weeks to go through one of those and I'm still here. I supposes it depends on the coldness of your fridge. Sniff every time.
