So I've been on keto for a few weeks now and I'm currently in ketosis, I just used my ketostixs a few minutes ago (yes I know they aren't completely accurate) and mine showed up purple, even though yesterday and the day before yesterday I had a huge piece of cake(for my sons bday) I for sure thought I was going to get kicked out of ketosis, anyone else ever have a lot of carbs and stayed in ketosis ?

If you are very well keto adapted, it is possible to have a few bites of cake and go straight back into ketosis. But, there is a limit to how much. You were likely very depleted of all your glycogen stores, and so you were able to "get away with it", so to speak.1

That's interesting, because I for sure thought I was going to get kicked out. Do you think i could go from 20g of carbs a day to maybe 30 or 40 and still stay in ketosis?0 -

Everybody is different. You may want to experiment. Go up like 5 grams at a time, see what happens after 3 or 4 days, and then either you found your limit or you can go an extra 5 grams.
