Maintaining Weight Loss After Surgery

Hello! I have lost over 20lbs since March and am finally happy with my weight. However I just had hernia surgery yesterday. It was very minor, only requiring 5 stitches. The recovery will still be slow, with at least two weeks of rest. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to maintain my weight loss during this time? I am having a hard time estimating my calorie needs and sticking to my macros, because I am not sure if recovery elevates my BMR or if I should actually eat less since I am less active. Any tips would be most appreciated!

Recovery from surgery requires lot of calories. Eat at maintenance or above.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you eat sensibly, 2 weeks of sensible eating as you recover will not derail your awesome progress. Focus on healing, and when you can get back to workouts, go kick some tail! You'll be just fine.

Eat at maintenance until you are recovered. Then once you get the OK from your doctor, you can resume your weight loss.

    Recovery is key.
