Leg pain with lumbar disk herniation question

My L4 and L5 disks are herniated and I get leg pain BUT... the pain is more IT band area than sciatic/hamstring. Is the leg pain perhaps unrelated?

Probably a question to ask your doctor, who would hopefully know the right questions to ask to determine which it is.
