Getting rid of stretch marks?

So I know I'll never get rid of them totally but I'm looking for any tried and true methods you have found for getting rid/reducing the appearance of stretch marks. I like most women have my fair share from having kids and then the extra baby weight that hung around for years to follow. I'm working hard and making great progress toward not only my weight loss goal but also running my first half marathon. I'm excited about the new body I've found but would love to fix some of the stretch marks just to feel a little better. Thanks in advance for your help and advice!

I still have stretch marks on my belly and inner arms, they are fading, but I still notice them. My wife says she doesn't even notice them, I think she's just been distracted by what my body looks like now, as opposed to how it used to look lol I was 240 lbs when we met and I've lost the equivalent to pretty much her entire body weight.
I think it just takes time for them to fade, like most scars.0 -
I have heard they are tears in the skin and you cannot get rid of them. They do fade with weight loss. I have heard drinking plenty of water, moisturizing (udderly smooth, coco butter) can help to lighten. I have had them for years and hate them, but I am used to them.0

ive been using mederma stretch marks creme...i use it twice a day for about 6 weeks now. and its starting to fade. i have those really dark red marks on my skin because they are still new. the directions said to use it for 12 weeks. i know thats a long time but its not that bad actually. i put it on when i have to feed my dogs twice a day so i remember to use it. Its about 40 dollars but its a decent size bottle and you can get a coupon if you go on their website. good luck!0

They eventually fade to silver lines, depending how wide they were to start with will determine how noticeable they are later. I have some that are just fine lines and they don't really show now but my daughter in law has some that were at least 1/4" wide and they're still quite noticeable even though they are kind of silver/grey now.
I have noticed that mine don't really tan so if I get a dark tan where they are it makes them stand out more.0
