Strength training takes a lot of energy and focus to do safely and with the proper effort level. So if cardio fatigues you, i'd do strength first. Or on a different day, or different time of day.

Fat loss is from eating fewer calories than you burn. :+1:

Personally, i would do them on different days to get the most out of each program.

I do a resistance program 3 days a week and alternate with 3 days of a training plan for walking a 1/2 marathon.

I came to the realization that I needed a plan to stay on track. I don't stick with it if I just go about it haphazardly.

I am not planning on walking a 1/2 marathon but the training plan keeps me on track for progressing with distance and speed.

The resistance program that I follow is actually one that psuLemon posted on another thread...A Workout Routine for Beginners. A year ago I fell and had to have surgery on my arm...I got out of the habit of doing any training...so I am starting all over...again.

I agree with doing them on different days. If you are putting out the effort on either one of them your performance will suffer on the one you do second...at least that is what I have found to be true for me.

On the days I lift I do light cardio, if any. On the days I do serious cardio I don't lift. I'm just to old and decrepit to do other wise (57 years old).

I was told a couple years ago by a personal trainer to always do weights first to get the most out of your workout.
I don't know how true it is but it's worked pretty well for me this far.
