Now I want strawberry shortcake, not the actual cake but the toy from the tv show from the 80's
I still have mine! (Strawberry shortcake blanket as well)0 -
Can't you just accept the cake, and send it to me?0

Dear Diary.I of course can't eat that crap, and was forced to make an *kitten* of myself by declining the food while everyone else contributed to the rise in obesity of America...
I'm thinking this is ground to sue under harrassment due to hostile work environment. Serveral of my coworkers ridiculed me for refusing the cake.
Many of my other coworkers have already signed testimonials that they saw the ridicule and harassment.
Anybody know a good lawyer who deals with this in Texas, or do you feel like this could constitue a valid case?0 -
I eat it.0

How come you don't spell it out? Was it sh!tberry shortcake?0

If I've learned anything today, just be glad no one brought you a freaking iced mocha.0

Eating cake once in a blue moon wont make you gain weight or ruin your 'clean diet'. Your coworkers may be rude but talking like this about food isn't healthy either.
If I want cake I eat cake. Big deal.0 -

character limit on the thread title...I wanted to start it with ZOMG so it would be more clear this was satirical (hell, check my diary), but I kind of like how this thread turned out.0 -

Sberry is short for taco. I eat taco.0 -

Maybe they were giving you a hard time for not eating the cake because they thought it was rude to not partake in the celebration of someone's birthday?
There's always 2 sides to the coin. Not saying it doesn't suck to be in that kind of situation, because it does.
Next time, either partake in a SMALL piece that you know won't kill your calorie limits, or politely decline and request that they respect that you're watching your food intake but appreciate the sentiment or whatever.0 -
I love when people's sarcasm meters are broken!
Was it a good strawberry shortcake?
My gram makes it with bisquick biscuits, mashed strawberries, and homemade whipped cream.
I would pretty much eat it separately lol0 -
It was incredibly rude of your co-workers to give you a hard time for not eating food you did not want to eat at that time. It is during those times that focus and commitment must prevail. I am disappointed that your co-workers behaved that way. Do people have no shame? It requires mindfulness to encourage others rather than be a caveman and bring a person down.
Where I work someone always brings in food, EVERYDAY. However, we are all supportive of each other to maintain our health and good looks! Often the food is barely nibbled on through the day and tossed at the end of the day. But it is appreciated none the less.
There will always be food around. Therefore, there must always be commitment, planning and focus. And apparently thick skin!0 -
strawberry? snozzberry?
"Do I look like a cat to you sir?"0 -
Eat the cake. Because some day you may get diabetes and then they won't let you eat the cake. Cake eating is a privilege.

Technically the "cake" was angel food cake, which is made with all those lowfat substitues and chemical soups...ugh.
Good lawd, I hope everyone that ate it is going on a cleanse to sort that out.0 -
