I have a polar f7 and use it to record swimming, walking etc calorie & heart rate. Is there a reason to use a fitbit instead?

I use Jawbone UP - I think they are more or less all the same. I'm finding the new Pulse by Withings very interesting - if only they had it in bracelet form!

    They're two completely different things.
The Polar f7 is a heart rate monitor and it does just that. It's used specifically while you exercise.
The fitbit is a glorified pedometer. It tracks your steps, calorie burn, tdee for the whole day.

I personally use both. I wear my fitbit 24/7 and my HRM when working out. :)

Thanks. I don't need to buy one then as I have a small pedometer. My Polar does calories as well as heart and charts my progress.

I do that as well. I also dnt wear the fitbit during non walking/running exercises since I am logging from another event and I dont log from the RHM on walking/running exercises. No doubling up for me. lol

But yes, they are 2 different devices as quoted above. They each have their purpous.
