So today for dinner I was in a rush so made one of these. It says it's 70g and on the back it says per 100g 101 calories and then 260g 262 calories. So does this mean I've had 262 calories once the rice is cooked or 101?

Did you weigh how much you ate?0

260 grams cooked, since the nutrition information says "as made up". Though I would personally still weigh it because it may not have been 70 uncooked grams in the package.0

How many grams of cooked rice did you have. For 100 grams, it is 101 calories, but a typical serving is 260 grams. So it all depends on how many grams of rice you ate.0

No I just had the packet. I'm totally new to all this so it's a little confusing x0

If you ate the entire sachet, then it's 262 calories. If you only at 100g worth (about 38% of the sachet), then it's 101 calories.0

You should weigh your food with a food scale in order to log an accurate amount of calories.0

Yes, this...one sachet is a serving...so it would be the 260g. That would be the cooked (as consumed) weight...so 262 calories...0 -
Thank you. I'll start weighing it out0

If you are confused now
the last thing you need to do is start weighing packet contents... if you eat the whole packet that is.
So yes the whole packet cooked is 262 kcal. and is one serving
If you only have half the content (but why would you) then weigh it.0 -
You can alway buy product (oatmeal, rice, etc...) that are individual wrapped, but it will cost you more.
Or just spend one day and portion out your product for the week. Put the product in ziplock bags and use a permanent marker and label it with the calories as well.
I also cook many items (chicken, rice etc..) for the week and portion them in plastic containers for convenience and portion control.0 -

Packages can be off 20% from what they claim to be. That's why you weigh it. That package could really be anywhere from 210 to 315 calories.0
