This is not by any means my first rodeo...I have lost and gained the same 60-100lbs 3 times now! I always go to extremes with dieting and exercise. I would cut my calories to the bare minimum and work out for hours a day, constantly fearing things I deemed "bad food"...basically, it is not something anyone can obtain for the long haul.
I always lost weight in the past by counting calories and avoiding carbs like they were the plague. I also have struggled with eating disorders; bulimia and binge eating disorder since I was 12. When I am active and taking care of myself, I find my struggles with ED to be far less. I was on a pretty great path to wellness two years ago but, then life got in the way...I fell in love and moved to another city and, my whole routine was shaken and then I basically gave up. I have gained back 55lbs of the 105 I lost and, am going to be cliche and say new year, new start.
I am now going to try IIFYM (aka if it fits your macros) because, I've had a few friends who have overcome their struggles with BED and the constant fear of putting things in their mouths. I paid for someone to calculate my macros and am just reaching out to others for support. Myfitnesspal was a big help the last time I lost all my weight, it gave me accountability and people who were going through the same struggles. Because, I have been M.I.A. for the past couple years most of those friends have come and gone. Hopefully, someone out there reads this and understands and can relate and, perhaps we can support each other along the way.
