Other than a 10K race yesterday and a half-marathon in May I've not got a lot of plans for 2017 yet. Probably the main ones are two tick a couple of landmarks off the cycling list - 1st is a 100km day (I've been very close to that on a number of occasions but haven't tried for it yet) and then next is a 100mile day.

I'm finding Zwift useful - in January I did nearly 400 miles of cycling (about half on the turbo and half outdoor), which is about 400 miles more than I did in January last year!

That's great! I'm really loving Zwift as well. Definitely getting more winter miles in than ever before and hoping it will bring on improvements in my riding when I can get back outside

I had an unfortunate accident back in August which resulted in a broken ankle. I then had to have surgery on it. Even though it's technically "healed," I still have issues walking. My upper body is pretty strong from lifting but my legs are weak. I hope to have a full recovery from this injury and be able to participate in a 5K run by summer. At age 50, it's going to be a challenge but I'm staying focused.
  • My goals: Lose that nasty 20 pounds. Be consistent in getting to the gym. Do regular stretching. Cut back on the beer & other alcohol. Get outside on a regular basis.

Just thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing on their goals? I have been slacking really bad on my goals of yoga and C25K, however I am having my best year ever on the bike. Zwift has really made a huge difference for me since we have bad winters and can't ride outdoors. Since January 1st I am already at 643 miles, which is huge for me. Also as of this morning I am down 16.4 lbs. WooHoo! I do need to start focusing more on some strength training in addition to cycling. Hopefully we are very close to being able to finally ride outdoor much more often.

I hope you are all hitting your goals and having an awesome 2017 so far!

I did the 5k charity race yesterday. Considering starting the bridge to 10k and entering a 10k race in September. I had to take a couple of weeks off from everything because of a knee injury, but will he back to strength training tomorrow. I might just do that 2x week going forward.
Still haven't reached bmi haha nor added any yoga to my workouts. Both are something to work on for the next few weeks!

    My goals are-

-Complete every FB30 program (from FitnessBlender)
    -Log into MyFitnessPal every day.
    -Get weight to 140 lbs.
-Get my 5K to 30 minutes.
-Enter a fun run every month.
-Run 10 miles. Just to say I've done it. Then I'm out, I am not a fan of distances over 5/6 miles! Haha!

(My goals look sad next to all you ultra-distance runners! You are all amazing and a little crazy!)

I think this is a great goal. One of my goals this year is to enter at least one road race a month. January's was a chilly 10k round a lake. I completed it in 1:00:13 - and those 13 seconds are mocking me because one of my other goals is to get under an hour for a 10k.

This month's race is another lake run, but it's 5k. Then I've got 5k's for March, April and May, followed by a 10k in June. Haven't picked my July, August and September races yet. But October and November will be busy with an assortment of 5k, 10k and a half marathon. And a jingle bell run in December will complete my racing year. If I can get a couple of PBs in all of that, I will be very happy.

I've been looking everywhere for this thread! Thanks to whoever found it.

    So to update:

My February 5k race was postponed for a week due to snow, but it was rescheduled and I came third in my age-group, which was such a great feeling. Never been placed before.

My March 5k race was run in unbelievably chilly conditions (-17 deg C), but even though I was bundled up in layers and layers of fleece, I came second in my age-group which I was totally not expecting.

And my April 5k race was yesterday, and I not only came third in my age-group, but I got myself a new PB too.

Loving reading about everyone smashing their goals.

At the beginning of the year I had set a cycling goal of 800 miles for the year. Previous years for me have been a little more or a little less than that so I thought it was a good goal. As of this past Saturday I have already surpassed that goal :# And the cool thing is that I've only had 3 rides outside this year so that has only been on Zwift with the indoor trainer. Now that the weather is breaking and I can get outside soon my mileage will rise even quicker. Thinking of resetting that goal to 2,000 miles for the year. I NEVER would have imagined I would be doing that kind of mileage.

I was doing really awesome including the yoga and strength training the first 2 months, but have since slacked on that and need to get back in it.

Keep posting your goals/accomplishments! Love reading them and it's very motivating! You are all awesome!
