When looking at my nutrition intake for carbs, on fitnessPal.com; is that including the sugar and fiber?

Sugar, yes. Fiber, it depends on the country of origin. Most countries don't include fiber in their carb counts.

    Carbs always include sugar, yes.

Whether it includes fiber depends on the entries you use. US entries (USDA, US packaging) will include fiber in the carb count. Many other country-sourced entries will not. So it may depend on where you are or what entries you use.

I mostly use USDA entries, so for me it does.

i was going to say that i think the US does, right?

In any case, fiber does have calories (somewhere around 1-2 per g), so they should be counted IMO.

thank you for your reply. The reason for my request is simple, I consume more carbs then I can burn. It is not in my calories. So I am trying to look at what areas I can improve on when it comes to my carbs

When I do my nutrition break down, I have a tab for carbs and one also for sugars, so I have two totals. I am really wanting to cut back on my carbs/ sugars. Sugars mainly

    This^

It's ALWAYS calories. If you consume too many calories, those extra calories (whatever their source) will be stored as fat.

So go for it, easy enough to do, but the point is that what will lead to weight loss is cutting back on total calories.

(Makes sense to have a good balance of protein, fat, and carbs when losing, though, as that often helps with satiety, but what that balance is depends somewhat on the person, and obviously we have no idea what your current numbers are.)

Thanks for all the helpful responses. I am not dieting really, just trying to get better with my choices, again.
I know that this will also help me lose the 50 pounds that I have gained over the last 3 years. I hate the word "diet".

All you need to lose weight is a calorie deficit. Cutting down on carbs/sugar isn't necessary (barring medical reasons), but it does help some people adhere to their deficit.
