Dim Sum brunch - tips?

Hi there.

Going for a dim sum brunch and am trying to get back to pre-holiday routine. Will have about 750-1000 calories to work with.

- steamed shrimp vs. fried pork buns
- vegetable vs. meat.

Any other specific tips you can share for sticking to lower calories options?

Soup dumplings. They're dumplings with soup broth inside. I've no idea how low calorie they are, but they're delicious! ;)

My recollection from a previous dim sum brunch is that it is pretty much ALL delicious... and that is my challenge!

Anything steamed vs fried. Hot and sour soup. But I'm the type to just go HAM because I don't eat it very often (three times a year or so).

    Yes, these are so good!

OP - The food budget you're working with seems doable to me. Like you said, steer clear of fried and, if needed for satiety, increasing volume with veggies
may help. Do certain foods fill you up more effectively than others? You could seek those out first. Have a great meal. :)

I went for Dim Sum on Tuesday with seven people. I know my Dim Sum so I only had my favourites; steamed mostly plus sampled dessert.

Also, went very light on lunch and dinner plus guesstimated 1,000 calories.

    1. Hargow - Shrimp Dumpling
    2. Beef rice noodle roll
    3. Shrimp rice noodle roll
    4. Shaomai - Pork w Shrimp
    5. Steamed pork bun
    6. Taro dumpling
    7. Sticky rice
    8. Egg Tart
    9. Mango pudding

It was a party of eight (8); I treated each dish like an appetizer, a small portion of my favourites and lots of Tea.
