Quit drinking caffeine and I'm dying here...

Just needed to vent. I typically drink a lot of Pepsi every day. I decided to quit (for the 3rd time) yesterday after being told by my doctor and dentist that most of my health issues are weight based and that the Pepsi habit certainly isn't helping. I drank a 6 oz cup of Pepsi yesterday just to fend off the caffeine headache that was inevitable. Today, I'm seriously falling asleep at my desk. And go figure, the cucmber slices and tomatoes that I have here don't seem to be helping! (vent over)

Maybe drink some coffee or green tea. I love a good americano or green tea (mango flavoured!). Plus with green tea you don't need sugar or milk, so it's not going to be diet sabotaging.

I had to ween myself off of the Diet Coke gradually. Each day I would drink a little less at lunch until I just made the switch to water. Excedrin Migraine got me through the headaches.

That suuuuuuuucks. I think you're gonna be in for a tough time. When my sister quit soda, she was cranky and fatigued for weeks. It'll get better, though! Hang in there. I'd like to suggest some tea for a milder caffeine/sugar lift. Maybe a good, strong black tea with some honey and a splash of milk to help give you the boost you're used to and make the transition easier. If you'd be more into a food option, then apples are pretty good at keeping me alert when I need to be. The same goes for beef jerky and other small sources of protein. Good luck!

Just quit a few weeks ago myself. Best suggestion I can give is to set an alarm for every hour; then get up and walk for 5-10 minutes. The quick walk will help wake you up.

When I was getting off soda I took one Excedrin migraine (which has caffeine) a in the morning and 1/2 one in the afternoon. I cut back until I didn't need any of it. Cold turkey sucks!

I had to quit my 4-6 cup coffee habit a couple of months ago myself.

    ...it gets better...

I was also told to give up chocolate.

    HAHAHAHAHA!

    No.
