I would like to start making meals butt I'm having trouble figuring out exactly how to calculate it all as an example we'll just say a jar of spaghetti sauce when you scan the barcode it only gives you one surfing I want want to use the whole jar in the recipe so how do you go about figuring out the serving size as well as how much of it you're eating sorry if this sounds a little confusing but if you can figure it out please help

You look at the Nutrition Facts label. In the US it is customary for the label to provide the serving size as a volume measurement followed by the gram or milliliter equivalent in parentheses. Just below that, the label will indicate *about* how many servings of that size are in the container.

Suppose a jar of Ragu sauce indicates Serving Size: 1/2 cup (129g) with Servings: about 5.

When you log an individual serving, you would log 1 times 1/2 cup (129g).

When you log the whole jar, you would log 5 times 1/2 cup (129g).

Note that there may be slightly more or less than 5 servings in the jar by weight or volume, because manufacturers are required to be specific for the individual serving size, but can round for the number of servings as packaged.

Unless you have to be very accurate, using the *about* 5 number should give a close enough estimate for the total number of Calories and nutrients in the jar.
