Stall after starting new workout program . . .

For those that have experienced a stall or even a gain after starting a new workout program, when did you see the scale start moving again? And when it did, did it drop a lot fast, or did it just start moving at the pace you would expect for your calorie deficit?
I am two weeks in to an intense workout regimen and am seeing major changes in my body, but the scale isn't reflecting it. I know that shouldn't bother me, but it does just a little bit - lol.

It's water weight from your new exercise regime. It'll go when it goes and no one can predict it for you unfortunately. If you're seeing changes, you're doing the right thing though!3

Thanks! I am so glad that I took photos before starting and at the end of weeks 1 and 2. Otherwise, I would be really discouraged. The changes are dramatic. Just goes to show you can't rely on the scale alone.

When I very first started way back it took 5 or 6 weeks for my first whoosh. It can be frustrating but if you keep tabs on other metrics like your measurements it reduces the frustration.
And I've had a good 3 or 4 weeks off exercise so I full expect to go through this in the coming weeks again myself!1 -
It's frustrating when this happens. It can take weeks for things to change and you may think you're not on the right track. The last time this happened to me was when I finished a three month program and took a week off to rest. I thought I may have been eating too much and was considering cutting calories a bit more, but I knew my hunger levels were a good indicator for me so i pressed on. When I took my rest week, I went from 113 pounds to 108 pounds within that week. When I started up again, the max I hit was 110 pounds.0

I've had members here even suggest ignoring the scale for a bit and just go by how my clothes fit. For the first three months or so I lost weight everywhere but where I thought I needed to lol. My little pot belly was the last to go of course.
Patience... you'll get there0 -

Wow, that is amazing! That shows how much water your muscles were holding onto.

Thanks. I was thinking about ditching the scale for a bit and just rely on other indicators . For my, my rearview will be the last to change - lol. First on, last off.

I'm trying to remember. I think it was about 3-4 weeks for me. It's very frustrating, but hang in there. My whoosh happened in fits and spurts, not all at once.
How all this happens for you? That's anyone's guess.

Thanks! I just finished reading through your thread. It sounds like you are well on your way to your goal. Great job keeping with it and not getting discouraged.
One other thing, I noticed that you mentioned using The Firm videos. I love them! My mother introduced me to them after the birth of my first baby ten years ago. I used them on and off for several years, but was then enticed by the allure of new, "sexier" workout programs. I recently restarted with The Firm two weeks ago and my before and progress photos are truly amazing. I am doing their original 90 Day Rotation. In fact, I just did Cardio Sculpt with the Fanny Lifter a few days ago - lol. If you are interested, there is a very encouraging group of "Firm Believers" on Facebook of which I am a member. Just search for "The Firm" Originals Workout Series. There are a number of women there your age who I think would be really helpful to you.0 -
Quick update: I seem to have hit the "whooshing" point. Lost 1.6 pounds between yesterday and today. I also started using Happy Scale so that I could get a better idea of trends. Looking forward to more downwards movement!4
