Elevated Heart Rate When Drinking?

So last night for New Year's Eve I was at a party, where I consumed a few drinks. When I finally got home, I noticed that my heart rate had been extremely elevated the entire night. According to my fitbit, my resting heart rate is normally low 60's, but all night it was above 100 bpm.

My heart rate was so high in comparison to what it normally is that my fitbit had me in the 'fat burning zone' for over 3 hours. Mind you I was not burning fat for 3 hours, but sitting down stuffing my face with chocolate covered pretzels.

So I guess my question is, should I be concerned over this? While there is a lot of material on this correlation online, it seems like my case is more towards the extreme side.

Concerned about eating chocolate covered pretzels? Yes. B)

Dehydration is one reason heart rate can rise. Alcohol, carbs & sodium can all increase dehydration.

Vasodilation can do it as well.

Lol not at all worried. Funny enough, my increased heart rate actually added about 250 calories as 'exercise'. Go figure.
