Elbow pilates pain, help!

I love pilates, but whenever I have to rest on my elbow/forearm (for side planks, etc.) it hurts so much! I find it too difficult and I have wrist injuries so I don't like to put all my weight on my wrist either.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks to help with this? :)
