Protein shake... As a snack question...?

So i know protein after a workout = great.... but I tried yesterday and think i may stick to it... A protein shake (just powder and water) to stave off the urge to snack and quell my hunger for a minute... Is that a waste of protein powder do you think? Or is it perfectly ok? I ask because all my 'research' says protein in the morning and after a workout only....

    I think it's fine =) I usually work out in the morning and just have mine for lunch and throughout the day if i dont finish it! It is really good at keeping you full! =)

    I drink 3-4 shakes throughout the day. Being a vegetarian, a lot of my protein intake comes from shakes.

    I like chewing, so I really only use protein shakes when I'm snacking between meals. Not a waste at all! My protein intake without supplements is horrendous, so I'd say it saves me.

    Its just protein, as long as you still stay at your calorie goal for the day, it should be fine.

    Yea this was what saved me yesterday and today, if hadnt had the shake i would have attacked leftover pizza, and the chocolate jar here at work.... stayed under my calories greatest feeling
