Short women trying to lose last 5 or so lbs?

Im getting so frustrated ugh. I work out everyday, i eat pretty healthy. With the exception that every once in a while i eat a biscuit ir conrbread with a meal. I try to stay away from bread most of the time. People might say i shouldnt be trying to lose anymore weight. But i have fat stuck to me still! It wont come off! Im 5'3 118 lbs and i dont care if i lose another pound, i just want to get rid of the fat! Why is it taking so long? I know its vanity pounds, i do a work out called booty slide, which uses your own body weight to creat lean muscles. It gets my heart pumping and i also can tell it is realy working my muscles. I probably have about 5 to 8 lbs of fat that i want gone. I dont care if my abs show, i just wanna fit in my clothes comfortably. Ugh! Im so frustrated. Is there any other petite women going through this or any that have gone through this and had success at losing the last few pounds? How long did it take to lose the extra fat?

I'm with you, here. I'm 5'3", 125 lbs (naturally heavily-boned and muscled) and it has taken me 11 MONTHS to get me from 141 to here today. My diet is clean except for my protein bars and the occasional store-bought veggie product (usually for convenience or to get away from tuna), and I only "cheat" once a month, usually be social force.

I was at a plateau Jan - April until I read http://gokaleo.com/2012/09/19/body-composition-that-last-five-pounds-and-how-to-deal-with-problem-areas/ , which convinced me to lift. I do lifting 3x and running 3x a week now, feeling good, just a bit impatient. Most people I talk to that are my age and such were done with this in 5 months or less, so I was very blatantly ticked when I realized how long I've been doing this.

It sounds like you are doing the same exercises over and over. One thing that helped me tremendously was, well, trying something new. I took a day off from cardio and did 2 Jillian M tapes, and the next morning my waist has shrunk! It was crazy! Even eating at maintenance cals!

Even now I still have 5lbs left and have fat on my belly, back and arms. My shorts are squished on me, it's pretty uncomfortable, but I guess it's motivating. I guess I'll keep chugging along...
  • Dont give up! I added squats and i will be addin the plank to my everyday workout. I have to be careful unfortunately cause i have kidney problems so its hard to choose what exercises that wont put me out. So i do low impact. And i dont lift, which i should, but im already doing exercises that use my own body weight to build muscle. I also still have fat on my belly and back, and the back of my legs and booty too. I am also very impatient! Its so aggrivating. We just have to keep going and stay motivated by looking in the mirror and seeing the small changes that will turn into bug changes if we stick to it!

I'm 5'3" too! Before when I'd lost weight (170ish down to 115) it took me two years. I'm back up to 140ish now and I know it'll take a while to get it back off.

At 118, for a 5'3" lady, you're at a healthy weight. Not only is your body going to resist losing anymore because it doesn't see the point, but women naturally carry extra fat around because we're supposed to make babies. It can also be held onto because of stress and not getting a proper amount of sleep on a regular basis. It's possible to slim the fat down, but your body will resist. I would suggest varying your workouts a little more, maybe add some more intense cardio exercises in because they're super excellent and efficient fat-burning exercises - kickboxing, running, things like that. :) Also maybe yoga and/or pilates.

I feel like im at a healthy weight, i just have the extra fat around my body that im tryin to reduce. And its driving me crazy lol i keep wondering if its just going to take me months and months and months to get where im happy, or if its possible to get where i want in a shorter time. Im getting burned out, i hate exercising anyway, but trying to get this extra stuff off is driving me insane, i cant do really high intensity where im bouncing a lot cause i have a kidney disease that creates kidney stones and a lot of jumping aroubd makes my kidneys hurt and spazz out :/ thanks for answering :)
