Dieting with Depression

Hi,
I've started again with the losing weight idea. It's been on hold for a while now (I say that, in the back of my mind I have been "trying" to lose weight by feeling guilty about eating too much and not exercising then promising myself I would do better).
I figured I would try to get more involved in the community side of the site this time while I have motivation so that I can keep my motivation going a bit longer than usual.

I have depression and anxiety which make it difficult for me to put much effort into anything but I am hopeful that I can keep going with at least eating more healthily if not losing weight. Today I went food shopping for myself and bought healthier food than normal. It was really nice to not feel guilty at the checkout over my food choices.

Hello there! I've actually has so much success with this app (lost a ton of weight several years ago) and then life happened and I've gained it all back and then some. I have horrible depression and anxiety and tend to use food to self medicate. It's really hard for me to start eating healthier because my mental illness and poor nutrition fuel each other, so I have to seize that tiny moment when I feel like I can change! Good luck!

I have anxiety as well as bipolar disorder. Losing weight is hard for me because I stick to it for so long, then usually end up crashing and binging hard. Eating healthier foeds helps me with energy, and walking helps perk my mood a bit. You aren't alone in this. Feel free to add me if you'd like. Good luck!
