Carb gain?

If I eat a lot of carbs for two days, will I gain weight if I'm still under my calories each day? Or even over by just a couple of hundred?
I ate rice, fries and noodles in two days. A good amount of it.
Will I put on a lot of water weight from this?
Thanks

Yes, no, maybe.
An uptick in the amount of carbs you eat can cause you to gain water weight. But if you eat lower amounts of other food you might have less food in your GI tract and that could offset the weight gain. But if you are a woman who is ovulating or nearing your period you may gain weight. But if you get the stomach flu and experience gastrointestinal distress you might lose weight.
There are too many variables to say that X will or will not happen 100% for sure when it comes to your weight.0 -

Carbs don't have anything to do with weight management....they're just one of three macro nutrients. Carbs will top of your glycogen stores if they've been depleted...it's fluid, not fat, and it's a good thing...but essentially it's water and has mass and thus weight which would show up on the scale.
The only way to actually gain fat is to overeat your maintenance calories on a consistent basis...has jack crap to do with carbs.2 -
Any more feedback on this?0

Yeah, read what the two people above said. They're right.7 -

Yep, this.
OP..sometimes my diet is mostly carb (when I have digestive distress) and the carbs don't make me gain fat. I may gain a little water weight but that is usually if my glycogen stores have been depleted. Carbs do not cause fat gain unless you go over not just your mfp calories, but your maintenance calories, too.1 -

I'm new to this so I'm not sure what the difference is between my MFP calories and maintenance calories? Do you mind explaining?
Thank You

You put in your goals that you want to lose X Lbs per week right? So MFP gave you a target based on those goals as well as your stats and non exercise activity level.
If I used MFP the way it's designed and I told MFP I wanted to lose 1 Lb per week, MFP would give me a calorie target of 1,900 (before exercise)...which means MFP is estimating my non exercise maintenance calories to be 2,400...500 calorie per day deficit = 3,500 calories = roughly 1 Lb per week loss.0 -
So mfp has me at 1680 a day, if I go over a couple of hundred a day. I'll gain weight right?0
