I'm so confused of which program to follow MFP or Weight Watchers. I have been on WW since September 29,2016 and lost 7lbs. It seem like my weight is at a plateau or it bounce up and down which I get so frustrated.

With my MFP you get to see how much marcos you are take in daily.

I'm trying to cut back on the carbs

Please what's your advice and have u try weight watchers

Hello. I did weight watchers and mfp at the same time, so I was counting points and calories. Both have positives and negatives and the don't quite equal out to each other but for the most part they are close.I just ordered a fitbit so im going to try that as well. I like mfp because it breaks down the nutrition and let's me see the quality of the food I'm eating. It's personal preference but doing both for a couple weeks let me see which one I really liked the most.

I like MFP because it's free.

I like MFP because it's free.

...And it's a lot less confusing than those point system diets.

Did WW years ago, it is similar to MFP except each food is worth points whereas here its calories... and its FREE

The MFP way is the only way that has been a success for me - 20 years of yo yo dieting and mostly fad diets, which of course stop working the minute we go back to 'normal' eating.

MFP educated me in calorie values, no food is bad, some are more calorie dense of course and other foods are filling/satisfying.

I also like that we are rewarded with extra calories when we move more.

I've been at goal weight now for almost 4 years. Thank You MFP! I only wish I had this app years ago.

"Plateau" is just another way of saying "eating at maintenance".
Your weight always bounces up and down, but those natural fluctuations will be more "visible" at a lower weight.
A lighter body needs less fuel, and weight loss slows down as you lose weight.
When you have lost weight, you need to be more vigilant to continue losing.

Weight loss is simple, but not necessarily easy. Don't make it harder than it has to be. Focus on calories. Eat what you like within your allowance. Log accurately. That's all you have to do. But you have stay within your allowance.

RoseJ You need to think about what you get from WW and whether MFP can give you the same. They both work in the same way Calories In has to be less than Calories Out. WW uses a point system and assigns points to food, MFP just counts the calories. My other half uses Slimming World (Same sort of idea) She likes the social support she gets from the meetings, I like the friends and forums on MFP.

What I don't like about WW is that it is a diet, when you stop what then? MFP tend to be more a change of lifestyle and teaches you to look at what you eat and make better choices. Remember MFP is only a website to record what you eat.

The first thing is to know what you are eating and then you can make better choices as to what you eat.

I found WW very confusing with the point system they constantly change, free fruits and vegetables (WTH?) and of course the cost. I come back here and it is straight calories, easier to wrap my brain around, tools are easy to use, and of course it is free. This makes it a lifestyle change and I know I am going to have to log for life if I want to maintain when I get to goal. So easy to regain those bad habits.
