I use this app for calorie counting and it used to work but I stopped losing weight a while ago and I want to keep losing. Is counting calories the most important thing? Because if I focus on eating more protein and less sugar for example the calorie count may go up. Is it a big deal?

losing weight is calories in/calories out - so you are likely eating too much and not expending enough

Weight loss happens when you burn more calories than you consume. Period.

If you're able to do that without counting, good for you.

    Me? I gotta count!

I count my calories and I'm under during the week but it stopped working with the weight loss.

    More information please.

What is your height, weight? What was your starting weight? When was that?

How long has it been since you last saw a drop on the scale?

How accurate is your food logging? Do you log everything that you consume, including drinks, condiments, cooking oils, etc.? Do you weigh your solid food and measure your liquids? All of it? It could be that you have too many estimations in your food logging and need to improve accuracy. Or if its only been 2-3 weeks since you've lost weight, you might just need more patience.

If you've stalled for the length of an entire menstrual cycle, it is time to drop your calories.
