Ok fitness pal friends in the USA, which restaurants would you consider the healthiest to go to in California and what would you eat there? I'm on a low carb diet and don't want to intake more than 1200 calories in a day. Please share your thoughts.

Depends.
Having no idea where you are in the world or what kind of restaurants you've got in your area, it's kind of hard to say.
Look up their menus to see if they've got the calories listed.
If not search for a similar recipe in a site like this: http://www.taste.com.au/ to see if they might list some plausible calories.
For example, this is a meal that often appears on menus of restaurants around here, and one I will select if there isn't a more appealing vegetarian choice. Unfortunately it isn't really obvious how much a serving size is, except that it is about 1/4 of the ingredients listed, so you can get an estimate. Then on the nutrition tab, it tells you it's 1800 kj or 430 cal.
