hi everyone,
Very new to the site and calorie counting. I'm allowed 1200 calories a day. I've only used just under 500 calories - do i need to eat more and get closer to 1200?
Wasn't feeling well today so only ate this;
2 slice toast + vegemite
lemon barley water
apple
tropical ice block
water
and dinner is a tuna salad

    You need to eat as close to your goal as possible. You don't want too big of a deficit. Quick weight-loss can wreak havoc on your body. Also, if you can lose weight on more than 1200 calories, do it!

    Yes please eat more, you can hurt yourself by eating too little! Unless you have a flu and can't keep things down, you should hitting as close to your goal as possible. I am at 1300/Day and I average between 1250 and 1350 in a day. I am still losing at a healthy and safe rate

    Thanks everyone. My intention wasn't to eat as little as possible so don't worry, wanting to lose weight the healthy way :) Was sick last week with a bad case of food poisoning so my appetite isn't back to normal yet and still a little under the weather.
    Thanks for clearing things up. Any suggestions on what I should be eating to get closer to the calories (healthy)?
    Really appreciate all your help, guidance and suggestions :))))))))))))))))

    You can always check your macros to see if you need more protein or fibre as examples and take cues from there. I love having some cheese or milk to fill up my calorie count. However with a stomach bug maybe dairy won't help you!
