Hi
I am currently trying to consume about 800 calories a day and do an hour of cardio at the gym almost everyday and walk 10 000 steps everyday. However when I finish exercising I feel famished and so I have a 400 calories meal after it. However at times I just feel like binging and I have done that to be honest (2 days ago for the first time) and I hated that feeling. Do you guys have some tips on balancing out my calories so I avoid binging? Is it good to eat most of your calories in one meal after an hour of cardio?

Why on earth are you only eating 800 calories? Enter your stats into MFP and go by the calorie number it gives you, which already has the deficit you need for your weight loss goals built in, and then if you exercise you should eat at least some of those calories as well.

OP-what are your stats (age, height and current weight).

Seriously, I've seen at least half a dozen posts in the past day about people trying to consume 800 calories a day. USE THIS SITE. Put in your stats and get a reasonable calorie target. 800 calories is ridiculous. Your body can't function on that. Eat smart, workout, create a calorie deficit (less in than out), and be healthy.

You are binging because you're restricting way to much. Are you under the care of a physician for your VLCD?

If not--put your measurements and goals into your profile, and eat the number of calories that mfp tells you to lose at a reasonable rate. You didn't gain the weight in 2 months, so you're not going to lose it in 2 months either (unless you're having surgery to remove large parts of your body in that time).

If you are serious about this, put it into your profile. People shouldn't have to do this for you.

And when you enter this into MFP what calorie number does it give you for the 2lb a week loss options? With your starting weight you could start with the 2lb option and then after you lose a few pounds you should adjust it to 1lb per week. And note that MFP's calorie recommendation is BEFORE exercise is factored in, so if you exercise you need to enter that and it will adjust your calorie number up to factor that in as well :)

It says 1330 calories. The other thing is I try to listen to my body and easy when I am hungry. Also I am afraid if binging so sometimes I just drink green or oolong tea to satisfy the initial bit of hunger. Getting back to the point, I always end up not eating till later afternoon because I don't feel hungry. I have a cup of coffee with milk and some sugar but nothing more. Is it okay you start eating in the late afternoon? I don't want to eat when I am not hungry. :$

Meal timing/frequency does not matter for weight loss-eating at the correct calorie deficit for your weight goals is what counts. But while eating later in the day isn't bad, you do need to make sure you're getting in all our calories which is 1,330 + exercise calories for you. Focus on hitting those targets and you're going to feel better and will be less inclined to binge eat.

You binge because you are restricting too much. One of the absolute worst things that a binger can do is use a big deficit and go all day eating very little, ending in having one bigger meal. Generally I say eat when you want to eat but if you have a bingeing problem, you mentally are not prepared to do that. Eat in a moderate deficit and eat multiple times a day. If you don't like breakfast, fine. But at least eat a moderate meal at midday and then eat again later in the day.
